Helen Wallace

Registered Nurse Helen Wallace is an experienced specialist nurse based in the North East of England, with over 18 years of practice across the private sector and the NHS. She began her career in elderly care, where she gained valuable expertise in Continuing Healthcare (CHC) assessments and social care needs, and went on to support the commissioning of a new care home in her local area. Transitioning to the NHS in 2013, she worked on an inpatient stroke rehabilitation unit, developing specialist knowledge in mobility restrictions and the adaptations required for patients to safely return home.
In 2018, Helen moved into cancer care on a regional chemotherapy unit, where she built extensive knowledge of cancer treatments and their impact on patients. This experience shaped her specialist interest in palliative care, lung cancer, and mesothelioma. Alongside her hospital work, she contributed to community services with the Marie Curie rapid response team, delivering emergency palliative care and support to patients and their families. Since 2020, she has served as a Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist, guiding patients through the entire cancer pathway from diagnosis to end-of-life care, and in 2022, she expanded her role to work in partnership with Mesothelioma UK.
Helen holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Palliative Care and has completed core training with the Expert Witness Institute. Drawing on her clinical expertise and specialist training, she is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of patient care while also providing clear, evidence-based, CPR compliant expert witness reports.
