Wendie Smith
BSc (Hons) Nursing, RGN
After gaining her BSc (Hons) in Nursing in 1999, Wendie’s nursing focus for the last 20 years has been in primary care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, GP’s, district nurses and carers.
As an advanced nurse practitioner Wendie uses her clinical skills as an autonomous practitioner, working alongside other clinical and non-clinical staff to provide patient care. This includes undertaking referrals and requesting clinical investigations to diagnose conditions.
In 2014, Wendie became a Queens Nurse, demonstrating her commitment to delivering and leading outstanding care in the community. Since then, she has become an active member of the Queens Nurses Institute community.
In addition to her clinical role, Wendie prepares Part 35 Civil Procedure Rules compliant breach of duty reports on the standard of nursing care.
Wendie has also given evidence as an expert witness on fitness to practice to the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Wendie’s qualifications include:
Non-Medical Prescriber (2008), Advanced Nurse Practitioner (2010), Diploma in Diabetes (2010), Diploma in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (2013), Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health Diploma (2018) and Expert Witness training (2018).
Wendy is a member of The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as well as The Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
